MELLAS Samira is an Assistant Professor of marine environment and Geosciences, at the Higher Institute for Maritime Studies (ISEM – Casablanca).
She has taught at ‘’ISEM’’ since 2020 and was previously a part-time teacher at Chouaib Doukkali University and at other universities. She has taught oceanography, marine and coastal risks and Environmental Impact Assessment. She is an associate member of the Laboratory of Marine Geosciences and Soil Sciences (URAC -45) of the University Chouaib Doukkali.
Prior to this, MELLAS SAMIRA was a Project manager (Natural risk management, environment and spatial planning) in a design office.
Holding a PhD in Marine Geosciences from Chouaib Doukkali University – El Jadida and a PhD in Geography & spatial planning from Paul Valéry University –Montpellier, she has good experience on Marine geosciences, Environment and risk Management.
Her thesis was about ‘’Tsunami risk assessment in the Moroccan Atlantic coast’’, it is part of the MAREMOTI program (Tidal measurement, tsunami observations, modelling, and vulnerability studies for the Northeast Atlantic and West Mediterranean (ANR RiskNat 2008)) of The French National Research Agency (ANR).
MELLAS SAMIRA is the author or coauthor of 5 papers in international refereed journals, 2 Book chapters and more than 20 conference contributions.
