Presentation

Continuing training is a natural extension of initial training. It enables professionals of the maritime sector to carry out their activities, while at the same time continuing to update their theoretical and practical knowledge.

Due to the perpetual evolution of technical and technological means, a periodical update of human skills is required, more particularly in the maritime field, which has to be internationally competitive in order to maintain or even improve its strategic positioning in favor of foreign trade.

Through modular training, ISEM aims to meet the expectations of professionals in the sector, taking into account their desires, particularly in terms of personalized practical training courses, while taking into consideration the evolution of technical and technological innovations specific to the maritime sector (safety, survival at sea, maintenance of on-board equipment, etc…)

The continuing training courses provided are divided into two categories:

  • Courses that comply with the requirements of the STCW (Standards of Training Certification & Watchkeeping) convention, leading to the issue of a certificate of completion and giving rise to a certificate of competency issued by the Merchant Marine Administration.
  • Specific training courses and seminars, which are tailor-made and competency designed
according to the need of the requesting organization.
